Boys will be boys

It's been FOREVER since I last posted so I will attempt to get caught up with this one post. We'll start with April when Ryan and I went to Mexico - all by ourselves!!! We had such a great time and ate dinner after 5 or 6 oclock and slept in past 6:30 in the morning. It was awesome but we missed the boys like crazy.
Speaking of the boys, they have definitely entered the phase of a budding friendship. They have started to play together and they play quite well. Below is a picture of them in the tub. They're both open mouth kissers. :)

They love their matching towels - thanks to Mrs. Melody.

I still haven't gotten a picture of BOTH of them smiling but it will happen. I'm determined.

Michael is always either chasing Carson, or vice versa. Inevitably, the one being chased isn't in the mood. In the case of the below picture, Carson wanted to get away from the intruding Michael. This happens often.

I love Michael's heart. He's definitely into who's a BOY and who's a GIRL and that boys like BUGS and girls like PRINCESSES etc. For my birthday, Michael told Ryan he wanted me to have a princess party. I thought that was so sweet! So Ryan, not wanting to let Michael down, got EVERYTHING princess and we had a little party for me. My house has never been - nor will ever be that pink again. But it was such a sweet day and I felt so loved.

Carson takes after me and loves shoes. He's always putting on the bigger shoes in the house.
Carson is not as into TV as Michael is but he occasionally wants to do whatever "Big Michael" is doing and things like this happen. Monkey see, Monkey do.
One of Michael's favorite things to do is pick up Carson and run around the house with him. They'll eventually crash onto the couch and hilarious laughter ensues. Carson has a great laugh and no one can make him laugh like Michael can.

I got so lucky with the below picture. It totally captures Michael's personality.

The boys play nice - MOST of the time. Shortly after this picture was taken, Michael sprayed Carson with water and the tantrum that ensued was not pretty. Not pretty at all.
We went into the city over Memorial Day weekend to retrieve some stuff from Ryan's office. Michael is SUPER into Toy Story these days so either Buzz Light Year or Woody goes with us everywhere.

If Michael has a certain food, toy, drink - whatever it may be - Carson will want it too. And he will accept no substitutes. He's a stinker that boy.

They do like to wrestle.....and Carson laughs the whole time.

Michael did not appreciate Carson getting dirt on his shorts. "Mommy, look what Carson did!!!"

Carson officially started running. Michael, watch out.

Life is never boring with the Pratt boys around. And for that, I am grateful.

Dancing King

We recently attended a wedding in Houston for our friend Sam Schrade. At the reception, Michael had a blast hanging out with the older kids and "dancing" to all of the music. I took this video on my phone so it's a little blurry. But, you will quickly see, Michael has some crazy moves.

Ryan calls this next picture 'Michael's N'Sync' picture. Judging by the above video, I doubt Michael will EVER have a career in a boy band.

Family photo at Sam's Wedding. The next day, Ryan and I took off for Mexico - BY OURSELVES and had a great time. Those pictures are on Facebook if you're interested. But thank you to Grandmommy and Granddaddy for watching the boys for us!

Michael has a new obsession with Toy Story. This might be my all time favorite picture of Michael.

Cutie Carson:

What do I say about this. Michael came home from school one day singing the YMCA song. I downloaded it on iTunes and it's a daily hit in our house to dance around to that song as LOUDLY as possible. Michael gets so excited and Carson just stomps his feet as fast and furious as he can.

Love this picture:

This morning, Michael woke up and told me he needed MORE Cars tatoos. As if the two he already had on his hands were not enough. :) So I gave him a "sleeve" of tatoos and he was beside himself.

After school today, we did our typical visit to the park. When we're almost there, Michael always wants out of the buggy so he can run, full speed ahead, to the park. So cute.

This was the best I could do getting the boys in one picture. Does anyone have a trick to make both children smile at the same time?!?!? :)

Dress Up - little boy style

This morning, we went to Kiddie Klub Lane where it gives children the opportunity to "dress up" as various things and play in adorable crooked houses. It was so fun to watch Michael dress up - and I don't mean tutu's or ballerina costumes - this was boy stuff and he loved every minute of it. Here he is with his buddy dressing up like Mail Men:

Here, he's working the check out counter at the grocery store.

How cute are all of these little crooked houses?!?!

He also dressed up like a hawk:

And a deer:

And the big hit of the morning - a fireman:

And so I won't feel bad for leaving Carson out of this post, here's a picture of him, a few days ago playing with his new favorite toy. If only it REALLY vacuumed. :)

In other news, we hooked up our old computer for Michael and it is SHOCKING how good he is at maneuvering his way around the games on pbskids.org. He LOVES it and could spend all day on the computer! I don't have any pictures yet of him but those will come shortly I'm sure.

Random pictures...

I've been remiss in updating the blog so here are a few pictures from the past month. They're pretty random, but so are the boys these days!
"Sir Knight Michael" - or so he was calling himself this day:

Carson loves to play in Michael's room and ride the horse:

Michael loves to play games on my phone and computer. Here's his poker face:

Ryan went to Paris for work and when he got home, the boys were all over him. They missed their daddy!

Carson and me:

The boys climbing the walls in the bathtub. Bath time is a very wet event at our house.

Silliness.

We got A LOT of snow a couple weeks back. So much snow, it was up to Michael's knees! He couldn't even slide down his slide because there was so much of it.

We took a family picture, of the Pratt family, in Houston while there at Christmas. Here's one of many that were taken. It's the best of almost everyone except for Michael. He smiled in every single other picture - wouldn't you know.

And last Saturday, Ryan took Michael to see Monster Trucks. It was a HUGE hit for Michael - he loved it and is still talking about it.

A lot of FIRSTS.....

It's been a while since I posted last. I decided to skip Christmas all together b/c I couldn't decide between the 236 pictures which to post. So, onto the new year! Carson has had a lot of firsts lately and we'll start with a hair cut. He wasn't so sure at first but ended up with a fine looking hair-do:

Michael has started the "I want to give Ba-Carson a shoulder ride!". Carson LOVES it and laughs the whole time. It's so fun to watch them play together:

It's official. Carson started walking. Another first.

Such a cute baby:

Ahhhh, but that's more like it. :)

We'll digress to a few pics of Michael. He's been doing a lot of pretending lately, really letting that imagination run wild. Here he is pretending to be the Ping Pong Bandit (for any Backyardigan's fans out there)

Love this kid:
Carson really loves the new CARS tent Grandmommy & Grand-daddy got them for Christmas. He gets in the tent and just sits back there, talking to himself and laughing at....well, I have no idea what he's always laughing about.

Michael loves to make popcorn. It's his favorite snack.

Ryan and the boys....headed to the store so I could make cakes for Carson's first birthday party.

We had a Cowboy's Football watching party / Carson's first birthday. The game didn't turn out so well, but the party sure was a hit. I made that sign! The stars below said CARSON. I know. I had a creative moment.

Before the party started, everytime I came around the corner, Michael was stealing a Cheeto! We started calling him the Cheeto Bandit.

So, Carson didn't love the party hat, and kept wanting to touch the candle, but he did enjoy us singing Happy Birthday to him. Michael sang the loudest out of 12 people. Loud.

He dug right in - but carefully. His FIRST piece of cake.

"I'll take THAT piece right there."

After a while - he was done.
He got his own push toy from Grammie and Grandpa and he loves it.

Another first at the party - our neighbor lost her FIRST tooth! So lots of firsts lately. Walking, a haircut, a first birthday party and so many more. Every day with Carson is such a joy - he really is such a happy baby. I can hardly believe he'll be one tomorrow. Happy birthday my little man.
