Silly Michael
Michael got a much needed hair cut this week and pretty much got it buzzed off. I couldn't stop the old leathery man once he started cutting, otherwise Michael would have looked REALLY weird....so it's short. And we're definitely liking it more and more. Michael is so stinkin cute these days he could have purple hair and we'd still think he was funny. We went to the Arboretum this week and he spent alot of time throwing rocks into the pond. He was drenched by the end but had fun nonetheless.
He brought in his "lawn chair" and sat in it all around the house until Blue's Clues came on. It's now his TV watching chair. I typically go for something a little more comfortable to watch TV in but hey, he seems to like it.
This picture is just funny....my boys wanting me to hurry up so we could go for a bike ride.

Happy Father's Day!
We had another big week here. Ryan was out of town for most of the week so Michael and I stayed very busy. Above, is one of Michael's Mr. Potato Head creations. (Note to other moms: that is an excellent time waster!) We also went to Pump It Up for the first time in a while. We spent MANY days there this past winter when we couldn't do anything outside. Michael wasted no time and went straight to his favorite, very large, slide.
He got his first "boo-boo" and he'll show you every time if you ask him about it. (...and yes, I know he needs a hair cut! It's out of control....)
We spent alot of time this weekend at our little town festival. Michael rode his first horsey! Well, I guess it was a donkey. The whole time, he said his version of "yee-haw". I think he really thought he was a cowboy!
And then, there was this boat ride. He rode it several times.
But, he had to wait a while for the weird carnival man to load up all he kids and he got bored. This picture cracks me up. It looks like he's thinking "Come on dude, let's get this ride goin'!"
And I just had to add this picture. We are in the midwest right? Not Texas? You would NOT know it by the picture below. Seriously - this is the baby version of Billy Ray Cyrus circa 1992! It's bad enough that he had a mullet, but he was dressed in a white tank and jean shorts!! Can you see the mullet? Ryan and I had to hold back from going up to the mom and just punching her in the face.

Lots of firsts......
This week was rather exciting, full of firsts and last minute arrangements. Michael has a new game he likes to play where he climbs into his crib, head first and then does a crazy, clown like headstand. I took a picture because it makes me laugh every time! I think our little man would live upside down if he could.

Here's the little man flying on an airplane.

Then, Ryan took him to our neighborhood splash park for the first time and well, it involved water didn't it? So, of course he LOVED kicking the water and chasing girls. ha!
On Saturday, Ryan took him to Kiddie Land with some friends where more fun ensued. I'm not sure who had more fun - Michael, or Ryan who got to watch the excitement of a toddler truly enjoying himself. Here Michael is with one of his little girlfriends, Avery.....always the gentleman, driving his date around and around in circles.
Michael liked the Ferris Wheel.....wonder what he would think of the big Texas Star at the State Fair???
Then, they all rode a choo choo around the whole park which included a spooky tunnel. It was pitch black and Ryan just aimed the camera and got this shot. Can't you tell it was spooky!?!?!
And for the "biggest boy"event, Ryan took him on a real roller coaster. CLEARLY I wasn't there because I doubt I would have let him go! Apparently, he liked it at first and then got a little concerned about the well-being of the other riders.
To top off the perfect afternoon, and best $20 we've ever spent (according to Ryan) he went on an oldie - but a goodie. And of course, he loved it.
I headed back to Dallas this week because on Wednesday, June 4, the world lost one of the most wonderful women I've ever known. Mrs. Aurbach has always been like a 2nd mother to me and I will never forget the endless Sunday afternoons spent at their house always making sure Liesel and I had the time of our lives. I, along with so many others, am a better person for having known her. She may have lost a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease but has now gained a perfect body and is, no doubt, enjoying her time with the Lord in Heaven. It's not goodbye, it's just so long for now.

Spring has finally sprung....
It's official - we decided to start a blog! I'm not sure why - other than, my friend Kim thought it would be a good idea. Now I'm hooked! Anyway, it FINALLY started to get warmer here in Chi-town and we couldn't be happier. Here's a quick re-cap of Michael's adventures in May....
He made a new friend (that he carries around the house EVERYWHERE):
He went to the zoo:

He discovered that he LOVES to play with water:

And he loves playing in his hat....seriously wouldn't take it off the entire day.
And now, we're here in June. The big highlight the past few days has been the new, totally not white-trash, blow up kiddie typhoon lagoon that now graces our backyard. He loves anything to do with water - even if it's completely freezing and he's shivering head to toe. Both times he's played in it, we had a minor (ok, seriously major) tantrum upon coming inside. Who can blame him though - we've been couped up all winter indoors!
