Michael is about a week and a half away from being 2 and let me just tell you - he definitely acts TWO! :) He's so funny these days and I have to brag - he's getting much better at sharing. Something I thought would NEVER happen. Here are a few pics from the past week.

King of the boo-boo's
Michael is having one of those weeks. I just looked at him before putting him down for his nap and realized, he has a "boo-boo" on every possible appendage of his body! It all started two days ago when he got this cool Halloween t-shirt (gotta love Target). He would not take it off, nor put his pants on! He kept running around the house saying "ARGH!" in his best pirate voice. The neighbors were outside and he decided it would be fun to chase them around.....and he fell on the sidewalk. That's how the two knees happened. Oh, and he busted up his big toe too.

A few changes around here....
So far, this week has been weird with no family and little cousins around to play with! We went into the city 3 times last week and so far this week, we've made it to the grocery store. ha! Here are a few more pictures from our fun times with the cousins:

Michael and Jamesyn having a little snack:
Michael was very excited to talk to his older cousin, Ashby on the computer. She was in Germany and couldn't make the trip but Skype is a wonderful thing!
Riding Thomas the Train on the Navy Pier:
I do have some exciting news to share. We're all getting new beds!! I know - the excitement is overwhelming. Since we have baby #2 on the way, we're starting the transition to a "big boy" room for Michael. My brother in law, Doug, is a fabulous artist so he painted this cool M&M on Michael's wall, above where his big boy bed will go. We will finish out the room with lots of circles - pillows, curtains etc.
My dear friend Sarah has always wondered how Ryan and I have slept in a Queen bed for the past 6 and a half years. Since he is 6'5 and I'm 5'11, let's just say, with an expanding belly, sleep only gets tougher. So, we sucked it up on Saturday and bought this fancy new KING bed. Sarah are you so proud of me? It's REALLY big and I can hardly wait for it to get here.

It's 8/8/08 ooooooooo
Michael is freaking out!
We've had a very busy week here. Ryan's sister and family came up for a visit and we've had more fun than we know what to do with. I'm also beyond exhaustion, so there's no story writing today. Here are a few pics from this week.

Coloring with Jamesyn:
We've watched a lot of TV:

This is Michael trying to convince Jamesyn to give him her oreo:

Like Father, like son
This was the second weekend in a row where Michael followed Ryan outside to mow the yard...with his own little lawn mower. I think this is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Michael mowed almost the ENTIRE yard with Ryan! That's a lot of walking for a little 2 year old! And he was SO serious the whole time - never cracked a smile......he's a SERIOUS mower.
On Thursday, our power went out for 3 hours from a tiny little storm. So, what do you do with a toddler with no electricity? You go play in the rain puddles! By the end of our romp, Michael was soaking wet with dirty street water and went straight to the bath. It might have been a bit messy, but we had so much fun "Dancin' in the Street". Be sure to catch the video of Michael below this pic.

Michael found this little spiral notepad yesterday on the counter and proceeded to write on EVERY single page. It was an awesome time killer and he had so much fun doing it. So much for my new grocery list paper. Notice we may have a lefty here - like father, like son.

The pile of "these clothes no longer fit" was growing a head in Michael's closet, so Ryan and I decided to pack them up and banish them to the basement. A few things (like the hat and gloves below) still fit and Michael decided to wear them ALL morning. There was no taking off those gloves till we went outside and his poor little hands started to sweat profusely.
